Smoking Cessation using Hypnosis

How can hypnosis help you stop smoking and never pick up a cigarette again?

Hypnosis is a wonderful tool to help you stop smoking and return to your natural, normal state of not smoking. We were not made to use our bodies as chimneys by sending smoke through our mouths, down our throat and into our lungs. Therefore, when you stop smoking, as you will, you return to your normal, healthy state.

Because smoking is a physical and emotional habit, you have to consider these aspects before you stop. The physical aspect of smoking lasts about a week. Whereas the emotional and habitual aspect can last a lot longer as any of you know if you have tried to stop.

I suggest to my clients that they answer the following questions:

1. Why did I start smoking? Does this still apply?
2. Why do I want to stop smoking? What will be different in my life if I stop?
3. What am I going to do instead of smoking.
4. What am I willing to do to never smoke again.
5. Do I really want to stop or do I want to want to stop.

The answers to these questions can determine how successful you will be using hypnosis. Hypnosis cannot make you want to stop. You have to have the motivation to stop and want this for yourself. If someone else wants you to stop but you do not want to, you will not be successful.

In addition, hypnosis is not magic, but it can help you manage letting go of this addiction more effectively. Because the physical addiction is much shorter, it is very effective for managing any of these symptoms. However, the emotional and habitual aspect of smoking needs to be considered before you make the attempt to stop. This should be considered with any type of method you use to help you eliminate this unhealthy habit.

So many people tell me they smoke to manage stress, and they return to smoking if they have stopped because of stress. Therefore, I recommend you see my blog on managing stress using hypnosis. This is why hypnosis is so effective with helping people stop smoking. It helps manage stress that contributes to the emotional and habitual aspect of smoking. You get two for the price of one!

Hypnosis has the ability to access you inner wise mind (subconscious) and turn on the part that wants to stop. Once I have the answers to your questions, I include these in the hypnotic experience so you hear what YOU want to hear about how to stop smoking.

Everyone can be hypnotized. However, there are some people who are more hypnotizable than others. But these people can still utilize hypnosis, and it can still can be effective. The great aspect of using hypnosis is that most people only need one session of hypnosis to stop.

If you would like more information on using hypnosis to stop smoking, please feel free to call or email me and I will be glad to help you return to your normal, natural and healthy nonsmoking state.
